Paintings
I started doing paintings almost ten years before sculptures.
In the beginning water colours were my main medium and when I joined the College of Arts and Crafts, Chennai, I started doing paintings in oils.
My main sources of inspiration were the ritual arts of my village and the nature. The natural beauty of the flora and fauna has often been the subject of my paintings.
Later, in the eighties, when I began doing enamel paintings, the brilliance of colours was consciously interplayed to depict the nuances of tonal quality of the nature.
